Kunal triumphs for Invitra; Tata Motors takes team title

Pune:
Tata Motors won the overall team championship even as Kunal Gole of Invitra won the men’s singles title in the Industrial Sports Association’s Badminton championship at the PDMBA Hall in WEI Complex.

In the men’s final, Gole defeated Tata Motors’ Chetan Pande 21-14, 23-21 and later completed a grand double by winning the double title in company of Sameer Bhate. The pair defeated Tata Motors’ duo of Chetan Pande and Tilak Ahuja 21-19, 21-17.

Results:

Men:
Final: Kunal Gole (Invitra) bt Chetan Pande (Tata Motors) 21-14, 23-21.
Doubles: Kunal Gole and Sameer Bhate (Invitra) bt Chetan Pande and Tilak Ahuja (Tata Motors) 21-19, 21-17.
Women:
Doubles: Preksha Dalwai and Rutuja Dighe (Tata Motors) bt Snehal Khollam and Shruti Ravande (Bajaj Auto).
Team championship: 1. Tata Motors (19 points), 2. thyssenkrupp (13 points).
