These 32 companies include Ruh International, Neotech Impex, Three F Design, Shap Drive, Saraya Sports, ABC Tech world, Thuse Electronics, Newtronics, Suman Paper Products, ICTF Life Easy and Sudarshan Stationery Products. The action was taken under the guidance of Chief Controller of Legal Metrology Department and Special Inspector General of Police Amitabh Gupta.

Mahajan said, “Under Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011, it is mandatory to mention name of the commodity, date of manufacturing or packing, MRP, Customer Care telephone numbers, complete address of the manufacturer, packer or importer and net weight or quantity of the product.” Mahajan added that if any of these aspects is missing the cases are registered by Legal Metrology Department.

He said the companies may have to pay a fine ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 1 lakh, depending upon the nature of the offence and the status of the company.
