Thakkar races to 3 titles; Kanade wins Open Class

Pune:
Seasoned rider Pinkesh Thakkar collected three of the five trophies on offer, winning the Two-Stroke, Four-Stroke and Scooter Class in the Sinhgad Hill Climb event organized by the Pune Automotive Racing Association and Social Activities (PARASA) over the weekend.

Thakkar was home in 4 minutes 10 seconds on his four-stroke bike while he needed 4:19 to make it on the two-stroke motorbike. Driving scooter through the same route, Thakkar was home in 4:49. Heramb Kanade won the Open Class in 4 minutes 02 seconds beating Venkatesh Tanir (5:43).

The prizes were given by Pune’s international rally champion Sanjay Takale, who had won this event when it was last held in 1996.

Results:
Two-stroke: 1. Pinkesh Thakkar 4 minutes 19 seconds; 2. Amar Sathe 4:22; 3. Jagdish Shirke 4:43; 4. Shyamlal Pardeshi 4:46; 5. Zubin Patel 4:51.
Four-stroke: 1. Pinkesh Thakkar 4:10; 2. Lokesh Bhosale 4:35, 3. Kishor Jadhav 5.00.
Scooter class: 1. Pinkesh Thakkar 4:49; 2. Amol Satpute 4:50; 3. Lokesh Bhosale 5:17; 4. Mayuresh Nimbalkar 5:26; 5. Purshottam Mate 5:55.
Veteran Class: 1. Amar Sathe 4:27, 2. Shyamlal Pardeshi 4:47; 3. Divesh Shetty 5:35.
Open Class: 1. Heramb Kanade 4:02, 2. Venketesh Tanir 5:43.
