Pune: Former New Zealand captain and now coach of Pune IPL team, Stephen Fleming, spent quality time with the students of Symbiosis International University and even played a quiz based on cricket and Bollywood, on Thursday.

Describing India as “home away from home” Fleming said that after he retired from playing cricket he had been coaching and so teaching comes naturally to him.

As an ambassador of Education New Zealand, Fleming shared real life experiences and urged the students to look beyond to become global citizens.

Fleming was accompanied by actress Soha Ali Khan, who too shared her experiences as an international student in United Kingdom and how she learnt to cope with different situations after having moved out of sheltered life in Delhi.

During the quiz, Fleming led Symbiosis student teams to test their knowledge of all things New Zealand.

For once, when the students had the choice to choose between Bollywood and cricket, nonchallantly majority of them rated cricket above Bollywood.

“The students at Symbiosis International University displayed high levels of energy, and their enthusiasm to explore my home country was incredible. Being a graduate myself of the New Zealand education system, I am proud of the learning opportunities offered by New Zealand’s world-renowned universities,” said Fleming.

He then hoped his team Rising Pune Supergiant carries the same form as in the last match when they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore.
