Pune: Subhash Ware, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from the Pune Lok Sabha seat, interacted with his supporters at the Ashirwad Mangal hall in Shaniwar Peth, the makeshift office of the party, on Saturday afternoon.

After a normal breakfast, which consists of Aloo Paratha, Poha or Shira, he usually begins his day at around 9.30 am, either meeting people in housing societies or conducting padyatras. He sips Nimbu Pani which he says gives him energy for long days.

As Ware headed to Kalyani Nagar, Sakal Times caught up with him and he spoke on a plethora of issues.

"We are in the fray to win the seat. Pune is an important seat for AAP. I am not taking the fight lightly as there are some heavyweights in the fray. My volunteers are going door to door campaigning. We are trying to reach the middle class and the youth through social media like Twitter and Facebook," Ware said.

"My volunteers have covered several areas. I need not be present everywhere. We have covered 80 per cent of the slum areas - Janata Vasahat and Kamgar Vasahat. I conduct padyatras in the morning and evening. Reaching out to 18 lakh voters is challenging, I am trying to reach maximum number of voters in the last 10 days," he said.

Ware was not surrounded by a large number of party workers like other candidates. He said that going to housing societies enables him to prove his points to voters and enables voters to ask questions.

Ware interacted with residents of Sky-Lounge society in Kalyani Nagar on Saturday.

"We will be bringing Swaraj law to empower people. I believe people at the ward level should be given power to take decisions. Initially, this may not work, but in the long term it will. I am happy that noted personalities have given me support," he said.
