A one-of-a-kind online pop-up exhibition will feature eminent designers showcasing their exclusive collections for the event.

Fashionistas swear by pop-up and trunk sales. They will tell you that you can find the best stuff at the best prices at such events. Bringing you an opportunity to get your hands on latest fashion, ExFirst.com, in collaboration with iKarmik.com, will be hosting a one-of-a-kind pop-up exhibition. And the best part is that you don’t need to step out of the comfort of your home, but just find a stable Internet connection and log on to the website to browse through works by eminent designers including Masaba Gupta, Rocky S, Archana Kochhar, Rahul Mishra, Rohit Bal, Kunal Rawal, Falguni & Shane Peacock, Vikram Phadnis, Mandira Wirk, Anjalee & Arjun Kapoor and many others.

“It’s a three-day fashion extravaganza where people would have access to haute couture or ready-to-wear authentic designer labels. The idea behind its genesis was to create a massive network, which will allow great possibilities for selling. It will also act as an illustrious stage for designers to showcase their creative prowess, which will ultimately prove convenient for the Internet-savvy fashion buyers. The sellers and buyers aside, Ex First would be a coveted opportunity for upcoming designers to showcase their best pieces on reputed shelves. It’ll serve as a starkly honest competition where the best designs would be bought and the judges would be the buyers across India,” says Rashmi Putcha, ideator, Exfirst.com.

Two categories of designers will be showcasing their work on this platform — the established designers and the premium upcoming designers. The former are layering into the customer base they already have and tap into a newer customer base with the increased outreach, while the latter will get a chance to explore and connect with a new customer base and rub shoulders with the best in the business.

Exclusive at the exhibition

The exhibition will feature never-seen-before curated designs by select designers that will only be available for the three days during the pop-up sale. Says Archana Kochchar, “When I came to know about the scale of this platform, I wanted to make something special for it to be able to do justice to it. We are not available online anywhere else.”

While Rocky S will be putting up a new line of bags, Rohit Bal will be showcasing a special collection under his brand Balance. “My endeavour is to reach as many as I can through my brand. As the name suggests, this collection creates a fine balance between haute couture and prêt-à-porter, it’s easy to wear at affordable price for progressive women and men of India who are appreciative of excellent design and quality. For men, there is a variety of casual wear, evening wear and occasion wear, while for women, the brand offers traditional Indian wear like kurta, anarkali, lehenga and saree designed exclusively by me. We are quite excited to see how it pans out,” says Rohit.

Since the collection will be available online, and customer will only be able to view photographs before they purchase it, how will the designers connect with their customers? Vikram Phadnis responds by saying, “It is a standard e-com model, you see the products virtually and place orders. People are increasingly getting used to this in the modern era. This model ranks high on the convenience factor.”

Addressing concerns of fitting, Rahul Mishra adds, “In case of customised orders, we will be connecting with the customers directly and seek their details. Once ready, we will inform the Ex First team to collect it from us and ship it out to the customer.”
