You may be used to seeing Alia Bhatt in a pair of denims, shorts or even flared Patiala. But Alia in a traditional saree is not a common sight. However, at a film award night held in Mumbai on March 11, she decided to baffle us all by donning a peach saree with a gold border and a pink sleeveless blouse. Completing her look with a small bindi, jhumkas, a dash of kajal and coral lips, she looked radiant and charming.

More than her clothes, Anushka Sharma’s happy self and effervescent smile drew all the attention at the award night. Anushka, who is batting well both in professional and personal life — her film Sultan with Salman Khan has won her several accolades and off screen too she’s enjoying her partnership with Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Coming back to her dress, the black attire was nothing extraordinary but complimented the star. The ensemble with cold shoulder sleeves and a lot of ruffles and sheer fabric was perfect for the event.

The metallic one-shoulder short dress that Disha Patani sported made her look like a diva. You have to give it up for the girl who also knows gymnastics and looks awesomely fit and therefore can carry off most clothes. In short, at the award night, she was dressed to kill.

Neetu Kapoor, who was also attending the event, looked smart in a semi-formal attire. The black and white combination — white ensemble and black accessories — always looks divine and Neetu regaled in it.

Sridevi looked graceful in a floor-length off-white and gold anarkali but it would be more appropriate for a wedding. The shimmer and shine would have suited Chandni if she was attending a destination wedding in Jaipur, not perhaps an award ceremony.

With an hour-glass figure, Urvashi Rautela ought to dress like a Barbie. And she did wear one on Saturday night. The dress with a lot of sheer fabric, crochet-like embroidery and net added a lot of feminine grace. She deserves a thumbs up but wonder how women breathe in a corset-like dress? Remember Rose (Kate Winslet) letting out a gasp when her mother tightens the laces of her corset? But that was the ’90s. Our new-age Bollywood actresses like the Priyankas, Deepikas, Alias, Urvashis do not seem to be complaining about the corset!
