PUNE: The school board of the Pune Municipal Corporation has lost records of the 27 fixed deposits that it has parked with different banks in the city, continues assigning work to black listed contractors, and is sitting tight for the last one year on a 200 page audit report that has brought to light its irregularities and scams.
A four member committee will now begin a follow up on what steps the school board has taken to comply with these serious lapses pointed out by the audit department that were put into cold storage thanks to some pursuing by standing committee member Ujwal Keskar.
The incident came to light when Keskar, ran into the report. Interestingly, the compliance on audit report have to begin within fifteen days of its receipt by the respective office, failing which it is put before the standing committee, Keskar said.
