Pune: The low-intensity blast in Pune on Thursday that left five people injured was "prima facie" a terror attack, Maharashtra ATS said today and registered a case against unknown persons in connection with the incident. "Prima facie the blast seems to be part of a terrorist attack. In this connection a case has been registered with Vishrambaug police," a brief statement issued by the Anti-Terrorism Squad said.

Pune: Following Thursday’s bomb blast in the city, Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Girish Bapat staged a dharna, on Friday, at Budhwar Chowk to protest against the alleged delay in installation of CCTV cameras by the city police. Bapat, along with Shiv Sena MLA Chandrakant Mokate, demanded that, for the safety of Puneties, the State government must ensure that the CCTV cameras are installed as soon as possible.

Pune: There is only 1.15 TMC water left in the four dams which provide water to the city. This water can last only till August 5 or 6. Due to the water scarcity in the district, as many as 84 water tankers are operational. A meeting was chaired by District Collector Saurabh Rao on Friday to take a stock of the water situation in the district.

Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to dismantle around 2,500 illegal mobile towers in the city. The demolition will begin from September if the mobile service providers fail to seek permission from the PMC. According to the data available with the city engineer's office, at present, there are around 2,500 mobile towers in the city. Out of these, only around 35 towers have the permission of the PMC.

Pune: Only 50 per cent of the 4,500 petitioners who sent objections in the individual category on the proposed Development Plan (DP) for the old city limits, appeared before the panel set up by the State government. The panel hears objections and suggestions on the DP. The State government has set up a seven-member panel for conducting the hearing and then, present their views on the issue to the State for the latter to take the final call.
